Connect three half-length, single-width, and full-height PCIe cards to systems with a Thunderbolt 3 port using the Echo Express SE III Thunderbolt 3 Expansion Chassis from Sonnet. The Echo Express SE III is useful for expanding the connectivity of systems like the MacBook Pro, which does not have the PCIe slots needed to connect pro video and audio inputs, transcode data, and connect high-speed storage and networks. Instead, the Echo Express SE III connects to Thunderbolt 3 hosts to leverage this connectivity via PCIe expansion slots that are outside of the computer. Up to three PCIe card are supported for tasks including video capture, audio interface, SAS or SATA HBA, 8Gb or 16Gb FIber Channel, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and RAID controllers.
The Echo Express SE III features two 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports which yields up to 2750 MB/s of bandwidth, enabling it to support 4K video capture and processing cards at high frame rates, plus 16Gb FC cards and dual-port 10GbE cards at full performance. With the ability to handle multiple demanding and high-performance PCIe cards, you’ll be able to connect with two 4K displays at 60 Hz, one 5K display at 60 Hz, and Thunderbolt and USB devices.
