DDP is one of my favorite shared storage solutions.
One reason I like DDP is because it’s built upon a very stable platform. The hardware consists of a fine quality rack-mount server as good as any of the more expensive SANS. Underneath it’s built on a Linux core with little to go wrong due to its simplicity. The user interface is accessed through the clients and has features that are impressive. It has the ability to emulate the file systems of all the leading SANS (including Avid’s AVIDFS) which makes it very compatible with Adobe, Avid and Apple products. It’s ability to Sustain massive data rates makes it particularly suitable to the high-end flame and smoke Linux-based systems.
I believe it’s price is very reasonable considering what it can do.
