The Challenge
MTI is the distribution partner of Minnesota’s own Toro company. They focus on marketing and distributing lawn mowers, snow blowers, utility vehicles and more. Based in Brooklyn Park, they had a conference center that was booked 24/7. When a warehouse went for sale across the street, they decided to expand their business and move in. When they planned to make a second conference room, they needed something that was like their main conference room, with capabilities to host a Microsoft Teams room. They also wanted to explore other brands to see what would provide the greatest value for their setup. That’s when they called Z Systems to help them figure this out.
The Solution
We decided to use a Logitech Tap touch panel with a Lenovo ThinkSmart Core as the brain of this new Microsoft Teams room. We took great care to make sure MTI was happy with a selection of Microsoft Teams Room Certified compatible devices. Using two Aver PTZ cameras strategically placed in the front and back of the room, we could effortlessly capture the presenter and the students alike. With ceiling-mounted Shure MXA920 microphones, we could pickup audio without worrying about knotty clip-on mics. Because they used a projector in their previous conference room, we opted to use an 8000-lumen Sharp projector on a 110” Dragonfly screen. The velvet trim screen provides great contrast, and guides the viewer to the content of the screen. Below the screen is a sleek Heckler brand credenza, which holds all the gear necessary to make this system run.
The Outcome
The install went smoothly as we worked alongside contractors to get the room finished. We were able to get everything installed and tested within a week, and Joe and his team were able to make quick use of the space. It has been used weekly since the install and has had zero problems. Outside contractors and MTI employees alike enjoy the ease of use, consistency, and reliability of this Microsoft Teams Room.
