The SymplyDIT LTO-9 Half-Height Desktop Tape Drive from SYMPLY is a unique full-featured backup, archive, and transfer system designed for on-set and DIT data protection use with features that can enhance production and post-production pipelines. It features an LTO-9 half-height tape drive and dual 2.5″ SSD bays connected via a 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 or 12 Gb/s SFF-8644 port as a convenient connection to your desktop Windows, Mac, or Linux system. It also features a second Thunderbolt 3 port for daisy-chaining and device charging and a second SFF-8644 SAS expansion port for connecting other SAS devices to your Thunderbolt system, or for use with a non-Thunderbolt system.

LTO-9 media supports a native storage capacity of up to 18TB and data transfers of up to 300 MB/s, or, when using 2.5:1 compression, a storage capacity of up to 45TB and data transfers of up to 500 MB/s. This drive is backward compatible with LTO-8 media which supports a native storage capacity of up to 12TB and a compressed capacity of 30TB and LTO-7 media, which supports a native storage capacity of up to 6TB and a compressed capacity of up to 15TB.

About SymplyDIT LTO
The SymplyPRO DIT Thunderbolt is based on SYMPLY’s advanced desktop SymplyPRO product line featuring a rugged metal alloy enclosure, premium power supply, and cooling. Then, SYMPLY added multi-access technology that combines docking support for most 2.5″ SSDs or Atomos Master Caddies for fast all-in-one DIT operations. Serious enterprises need a serious data mover that connects a wide range of storage destinations in house or at remote locations — with ease, speed and reliability. Cloning data or a complete file system creates a failover solution for time critical setups.

Whether local disks, LAN storage, remote storage or even cloud services, P5 Synchronize is hardware and OS agnostic and offers a simple, flexible all-in-one approach. Simply think of P5 Synchronize as the Swiss army knife of data management.

Archiware P5 Synchronize is configured and monitored via the browser and offers straightforward functionality even for most advanced demands, making command line triggered sync procedures a thing of the past. P5 Synchronize automatically detects modified files and synchronizes them to a target destination.

Continuous Data Protection reduces the risk of data loss. For maximum availability, synchronized files are immediately available. No restore is required. In case of emergency, production can continue immediately using the cloned data.

Maximum efficiency

P5 Synchronize can keep file versions and multiple snapshots, with these previous versions available in addition to the most up to date data clone. Snapshots of the whole file system can keep even more data available. In update mode, copies of only new and modified files are made. Required disk space and network traffic is reduced. By using hard links, your storage space is used most efficiently. Data migration

Since version 5.3, the Synchronize Module supports a powerful functionality of modern file systems such as ZFS or BtrFS, which is creating a snapshot of the status quo of data. These functionalities are special in that they use very little ressources. Snapshots can be created instantly and the required storage space matches the amount of data that has changed. This functionality enables the user to keep and provide multiple cycles of synchronized data.

Cloud Support

]]> P5 Backup is backup software for professional use that can be setup within minutes. It lets you backup server data to disk or tape (like LTO-5) as well as backup and restore cross-platform on Mac, Linux, Windows and Solaris. It works seamlessly with P5 Synchronize and Archive, allowing broad data availability options.

Server backup to disk and tape

P5’s server backup is browser based and allows easy configuration, administration and monitoring – regardless of your location. The backup will include all your data as well as extended attributes, permissions, resource forks etc.

Through parallelization, P5 Backup software supports multiple drives, tasks and clients simultaneously. 
Even large data sets can be backed up in the shortest time possible. Backups are interruptible, and will be filled in automatically with the next run. Even partial backups are restorable.

Growing with your requirements, P5’s modular design allows for optimal scaling to fit your needs. 
There are no limits to possible growth: you can easily add further Archiware products, hardware or media 
to expand your setup.

P5 server backup can be saved on disk and tape, while you can also use the same hardware to operate P5 Archive.

Easy Restore

P5 Backup software stores your data in a platform-neutral format, allowing you to back up and restore data from and to any platform. Archiware’s block-direct positioning allows for fast restore, no sequential seeking needed. Snapshots offer restores from a particular point in time. The administrator can allow users to search, browse and/or restore from the backup, making Archiware P5 even more flexible to the users’ needs.

Encryption

Files can be encrypted during transfer over a network and/or on the storage media. In addition, P5 also backs up access rights and ACLs of a file. The data is only unencrypted when restored to the workstation. This protects files against unauthorized access after a restore. Access to view a workstation’s index of saved files is managed via group-based access rights.

Incremental Backup

Incremental Backup only backs up files which have been added or modified since the last backup run.

Since files are continuously backed up, even during long out-of-office periods, the volume of data for each backup increment remains small. Hence, network and server loads are kept to a minimum.

Offsite safekeeping

Real security for your data can only be achieved through offsite backup. By cloning your backup on a second set of tapes or disks, you are ready for offsite storage for real disaster prevention. Ideally, this second set should be stored in a safe place and not in your primary office. Encryption options protect your
data during transfer and on the media.

Archive provides configurable login areas for restricted or direct access to (selected) parts of the archive to browse, search and restore files.

3rd party integrations

P5’s scriptable command line interface offers unlimited options for 3rd party integrations. The following options are already available: Final Cut Server, Canto Cumulus, CatDV, CANTEMO Portal™, Xinet, Helios.

LTFS Export Option
