St. Olaf Catholic Church
“We didn't have to call and rely upon Z Systems that often, because the systems that they installed were done right and the products were quality.” – Chris Sehnert, TV Producer for St. Olaf Catholic Church

Solution
Z Systems decided to overhaul their entire video system. St. Olaf wanted an incredible image for their livestream and projector feed, so we decided to install 4 Canon CR-N500 PTZ cameras with a Canon RC-IP100 controller for the control room. This would give operators control of all the camera’s settings from an easy-to-use touchscreen. Those cameras were being sent to a brand new Vizrt Tricaster TC410. The Tricaster handles St. Olaf’s multiple video outputs, recording and streaming setup, and graphics control.
Problem
St. Olaf Catholic Church is home to one of busiest congregations in the Twin Cities. Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, they host 17 worship services every week. For over 20 years, they have recorded their worship services to air on a public access station. Though as of late they have gathered a sizeable audience on YouTube. Z Systems was proud to install a Tricaster in 2014 to help them expand their production capabilities, and after 10 years of reliable use it was time for an upgrade. They needed something that could handle their regular needs, could be operated by one person, and had abilities to expand for the future.

“The install was amazingly smooth. It really was. Z Systems came in, and they had knowledgeable people.” – Chris Sehnert, TV Producer for St. Olaf Catholic Church

Aftermath
Z Systems installed the new gear alongside their old system to ensure a seamless integration process. All gear in the sanctuary was replaced piece by piece, ensuring backward and forward compatibility. After a quick physical install period, Z Systems calibrated the studio gear before the St. Olaf team got an in-person training of the Tricaster system from Vizrt. There, they were able to learn the ins and outs of the system and ask in-depth questions. The system has since been used daily, and has allowed St. Olaf to effortlessly broadcast their message.
